Our Story

Where It All Began

The story of Don Alberto’s begins when chef Salvatori Suad (left) met restauranteur Alberto Hallumi (right), and both decided they could make something out of a vacant restaurant space at the Loom centre in Leigh.

The pair had already created two successful restaurants: Il Padrino in Middlewich, and Don Alberto in Holmes Chapel, which won Cheshire Lifes Restaurant of the Year award in 2020.

The new venue gave Salvatori and Alberto the chance to create a 120-seat establishment in a popular location, complete with outdoor space. Throughout the pandemic, staff at both restaurants donated food to NHS workers at Leighton Hospital and residential care homes.

The menu features a cuisine not often found in Italian restaurants – Venetian food. The restaurant is open for both quick and full lunch options, and in the evening, the full Italian experience with a range of fine wines and desserts.
